To build a coherent typology of the sales I visit, a pocket-sized point & shoot camera accompanies me as I document each home, allowing me to collect a visual record of the strange worlds I enter. Taking photos of the architectural compositions, personal collections, and proof of existence helps me understand not only the strangers who once occupied these spaces, but also the shoppers and estate-sale company owners whose job it is to ultimately discard or donate what does not sell.
